Orpington 10k - 25 Jun 2006

This year’s Orpington 10k marked John Soper's 60th birthday.

It was hailed by many of the runners as the “best ever”. The course was re-routed slightly having lost the bridge over the A21. Start line was in Lovibonds Avenue instead of on the Darrick Wood School field. It is a popular family race, with a 2k race for children school years 3-6 and 7-11. After the 10k a fun run took place for all.

The aerobics warm up was given by an aging hippy!

Stalls on School field included: barbecue, home made cakes, sandwiches and drinks, a wine guessing game …

It was a hot day and the course does not get any easier (as you get older!!)
