Bromley Veterans AC Grand Prix Rules 2024/25

The Grand Prix is a selection of 9 popular local events and 2 KFL meetings over a period of 12 months starting in March.The series includes a range of distances from 5 miles to 15 miles with a variety of road, multi-terrain and cross-country. Some courses are flat and some are more undulating but are always suitable for all members.

  • Sunday 3rd March - Paddock Wood half marathon
  • Bank Holiday Monday 6th May - Ted Pepper 10K
  • Saturday 1st June – Harvel 5 miles
  • Sunday 9th June - Orpington High Elms 10K
  • Sunday 16th June  - Eltham Park 5 miles
  • Sunday 7th July  – The Bewl 5 and 15 miles
  • Sunday 13th October - Petts Wood 10K 
  • Sunday 8th December - Turkey Run 7.5 miles
  • January 2025 - Canterbury 10
  • Any 2 of the KFL meetings (best 2 to count)

The final score will consist of the ‘best 6 scores’ in those 11 events so club members are able to miss up to 5 events but still have the opportunity to gain maximum points.

Runners will get 30 points for completing an event. The runners with the top twenty % age-graded scores will be awarded additional points: 20 points for the highest score, 19 points for the next highest etc. down to one point. The % age-graded scores (WMA rating) will be calculated from the official race results published by the race director or chip timing company.

Essential points:

  • Club members will be automatically included in the GP but may opt-out;
  • Participants must be a first claim member to be eligible to win the GP Cup;
  • Participants’ WMA rating for the event, based on their chip time, will be the basis on which points are awarded;
  • Participants must run in club colours;
  • Organisers’ published results must show your affiliated club as Bromley Veterans AC;
  • Final award winner must have completed at least 6 events.

The highest cumulative total from each participant's best scoring 6 events will count towards the finishing places. 

At the conclusion of the series, the Grand Prix Cup will be awarded at the AGM  in February 2025 to the person with the highest score, providing they have run in a minimum of 6 events.
