Parkrun Cup

Parkrun Cup is a competition open to all BVAC members.

The competition operates on a points based system that acknowledges and rewards 

the many positive aspects of Parkrun.

Rules

To be eligible for the Parkrun Cup, you must be a fully paid-up member of BVAC, 

Your Parkrun profile must specify that you run for BVAC, and you must appear in the 

Official published results.

On the third Saturday of each month, starting in March through to February.

▪ Run any Parkrun anywhere  -  5 points 

▪ First time at any event  -  5 points

▪ PB at any event (excluding first time)  -  10 points

▪ BVAC race gender position:  Top 5    - 5 points

▪ BVAC race gender position:  Top 10  - 3 points 

▪ BVAC race gender position:  Top 20  - 2 points 

 ▪Age category position 1st  - 5 points 

▪ Age category position 2nd - 4 points 

▪ Age category position 3rd -  3 points 

▪ Age category position 4th -  2 points 

▪ Age category position 5th -  1 points 

The Parkrun Cup is highlighted monthly in the BVAC WhatsApp chat group's, to remind members about the upcoming event (held on the third Saturday of each month), the current league standings, and the scoring system.

Event 1: The scores for the 24 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at Norman Park, Bromley on the 18th February 2023 can be found here.

Event 2: Ten members took part in the parkrun Cup held at Beckenham Place Park on the 18th March 2023. Their scores can be found here.
Ruth Bunn and Luke Hooper are in joint first place with 94 points each, with Sally Prince and Jason Short in second and third places with 90 and 88 points, respectively. 

Event 3: The scores for the 10 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at South Norwood Country Park on the 15th April 2023 can be found here.
Ruth Bunn is currently in first place with 143 points, with Jason Short and Jeanette Elven in second and third places with 136 and 133 points, respectively. 

Event 4: The scores for the 27 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at Bethlem Royal Hospital on the 20th May 2023 can be found here.
Ruth Bunn is holding on to first place with 188 points, with Jason Short and Jeanette Elven remaining in second and third places with 180 and 170 points, respectively. 

Event 5: The scores for the 26 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at Norman Park, Bromley on the 17th June 2023 can be found here.
Jason Short has now taken over the top spot with 222 points, with Ruth Bunn closely behind with 218 points and and Jeanette Elven in third place with 206 points.

Event 6: The scores for the 15 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at Beckenham Place Park on the 15th July 2023 can be found here.
With Jason Short away, Jeanette Elven has taken over the top spot with 248 points, with Luke Hooper a close second with 239 points.

Event 7: The scores for the 9 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at South Norwood Country Park on the 19th August 2023 can be found here.
With Jeanette Elven away, Luke Hooper has moved into the top spot with another PB and a total of 291 points, with Jason Short (267 points) and Kate Sanwell (257 points) not far behind.

Event 8: The scores for the 15 members who took part in the parkrun Cup held at Bethlem Royal Hospital on the 16th September 2023 can be found here.
Jason Short has moved up to the top of the table this month with a total of 312 points, closely followed by Kate Sanwell (304 points) in second place, and Luke Hooper and Jeanette Elven tying for third place (291 points).

Event 9: There were 29 runners for the parkrun Cup held at Norman Park, Bromley on the 21st October 2023 (in pouring rain). The scores can be found here.
There was no change in the order at the top of the table with little difference in scores between the top three places: Jason Short (358 points), Kate Sanwell (348 points) and Luke Hooper (338 points).

Event 10: Only 8 runners took part in the parkrun Cup at Beckenham Place Park on 18th November 2023. The top three places remain the same with Jason Short in the lead (405 points), closely followed by Kate Sanwell in second place (394 points) and Luke Hooper in third (386 points). Event 11: A small turnout of five runners took part in the penultimate event of the parkrun Cup at South Norwood Country Park on 16th December 2023. Jason Short remains in the lead with 454 points, but Kate Sanwell (441 points) and Jeanette Elven (423 points), who are currently in second and third place, respectively, could still potentially grab the top spot next month at the last event. Event 12: Fifteen runners took part in the last event of the parkrun Cup at Bethlem Royal Hospital on 20th January 2024.
The overall winner of the 2023-24 parkrun Cup will be announced and presented with the cup at the AGM on Wednesday 28th February at the Parklangley club.

Event 2: The parkrun Cup scores for March 2022 at Beckenham Place Park can be found here. 
After two events, Kathryn Sanwell is in the lead with 80 points, followed by Jason Short (73 points) and Bernie Fry (68 points).

Event 3: The parkrun Cup scores for April 2022 at South Norwood Country Park can be found here.
Jason Short and Kathryn Sanwell are now neck and neck on 113 points, followed by Linda Whiteley with 73 points.

Event 4: The parkrun Cup scores for May 2022 at the Royal Bethlem Hospital can be found here.
Jason Short and Kathryn Sanwell remain tied at the top of the scores table with 143 points each. Bernie Fry and Natalie Price have now moved up to third (103 points) and fourth (101 points) places, respectively.

Event 5: The parkrun Cup scores for June 2022 at Norman Park, Bromley can be found here.
Kathryn Sanwell has edged into the lead with 180 points, past Jason Short with 173 points. Bernie Fry and Natalie Price remain in third (133 points) and fourth (131 points) positions.

Event 6: The parkrun Cup scores for July 2022 at Beckenham Place Park can be found here.
Kathryn Sanwell remains in the lead with 218 points, with Jason Short in second place with 173 points. Natalie Price (163 points) and Jeanette Elven (161 points) are vying for third place.

Event 7: The parkrun Cup scores for August 2022 at South Norwood Country Park can be found here.
Kathryn Sanwell (248 points) is still in the lead, but Jeanette Elven has moved up into second position with 197 points, with Jason Short in third place (173 points), followed by a few more contenders not far behind.

Event 8: The parkrun Cup scores for September 2022 at the Royal Bethlem Hospital can be found here. The top three runners on the score sheet are unchanged this month:
Kathryn Sanwell (287 points) remains in the lead, followed by Jeanette Elven in second position with 227 points, and Jason Short in third place (206 points). Several runners are still in with a chance to fill the top spots with four more events to go.

Event 9: The parkrun Cup scores for October 2022 at Norman Park, Bromley can be found here. The top three runners on the score sheet are unchanged this month:
Kathryn Sanwell (319 points) remains in the lead, followed by Jeanette Elven in second position with 258 points, and Jason Short in third place (241 points). Three more events to go!

Event 10: The parkrun Cup scores for November 2022 at Beckenham Place Park can be found here. 
Kathryn Sanwell (355 points) remains firmly in the lead, followed by Jeanette Elven (291 points) and Jason Short (280 points) vying for second place. Congratulations to Alex Metcalf who got a PB time, and is close on their heels with 264 points. Only two more events to go to decide the winner!

Event 11: Unfortunately the parkrun at South Norwood Country Park  in December 2022 was cancelled due to the weather.
