Ann Leverett and I decided to make this race our first half marathon of the year. Whilst Brands Hatch is a very nostalgic place for me (as I used to be the audit manager for the race circuit about 20 years ago), the race is a killer on the legs! For anyone who has not run this race before, it is on the track and the camber has to be felt to be believed. In places you feel as though you are running on legs of differing lengths and trying to find a spot on the track that is relatively flat is impossible. The facilities make up for the pain afterwards, with a good number of toilets, coffee bar, parking and a great goodie bag. However, both Ann and I have had leg problems since returning, so although it is a bit of fun to say you have done this race, if you are worried about any injury, this is probably not the best place to be running!
